RCFD regretfully announces the passing of Honorary Life Member Carl Wapiennik. Carl came to Rostraver Central in 2012 with a desire to make a positive impact on the fire department and the community. He was a valued contributor to fundraising events and enlightened everyone he met. Carl was formerly the executive director of Buhl Planetarium, where he developed many of the astronomical and scientific displays. He also worked for the Naval Research Laboratory and RCA Corporation. Carl was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
